Legends of Tomorrow: Nip/Stuck Review (Minor Spoilers)

Synopsis
With Constantine missing, the Legends struggle to find a way to track him. When Sara hesitates to make a tough call, Rory steps up creating a wedge in the team. Meanwhile, Ava gives Gary the responsibility of handling the Bureau performance reviews for all the agents.
Ice Ice Baby
Neron, in the body of Ray, is on the run and his plan is put in motion as he takes Constantine, in the first instance, to the Ice Age. Constantine is the one who can bring Neron’s beloved and mysterious Tabitha back from hell. When the Legends arrive in this time period, it isn’t long before a further part of Neron’s plan is put in to place and the Legend are trapped after an avalanche.
Sacrifice
With the Waverider team trapped, it’s off to 55 B.C. for Neron and John, arriving at Stonehenge. Here, Neron shows Constantine the start of his lineage, showing him that his ancestor is not a good guy, sending magical creatures to hell for power. In doing so, the ancestor opens a portal to hell and about to send John and a creature called a Pooka (or Puca) allowing Tabitha to return (in a vessel that I never saw coming and one I won’t spoil for you). Furthermore, after Constantine fights back, he makes the ultimate sacrifice, earning the title of Hero!
Leader of the Pack
Neron’s plan isn’t just about taking John back in time to release Tabitha etc. but he has other things in place to ensure that there is no resistance (remember, the Legends were trapped after an avalanche). As you will remember Gary is now under the influence of Neron and his mammary papilla back in place. It is probably safe to say that his returned nipple is the one controlling Gary who is now a strong, confident man. Thanks to an eye-popping visual (if you’ve seen it you know), Gary is able to, I’m sorry, ‘Nipnotize’ the Time Bureau agents, with the exception of Mona that is. Neron, unaware the Mona has a friend on ‘Wolfie’ hasn’t planned on what happens next. Suffice to say, following on from the nipple reveal last week it takes some swallowing.
Come Together
Back on the Waverider and the Legends are trapped and unsure on how they are going to get out of the predicament they find themselves in. As Sara was reluctant to make a big call earlier, she and Rory are at loggerheads as he was the one who ultimately gave an order to Gideon. They bicker and huff and puff at each other but thanks to Charlie, they bond and get back to working together. They soon come across Ray’s disaster guide yet find that they have done everything that he would have done with the exception of one thing – coming together as a team (especially Nate and Zari who are egg-sitting along with making out). The team do come together, power on the ship despite desperately low on power and they talk, play games and make smores (is that right?). Thankfully turning the power on works in their favour, they escape and make their way to find Constantine and Ray.
Thoughts
Again, Legends of Tomorrow comes up with the goods. This is a really great episode which advanced the season arc and gave us more on Neron’s quest.
John Constantine is one of the most fascinating characters in any show on tv at the moment, this episode is testament to that. Matt Ryan portrays the character with such depth, he is easily the standout performer in the show.
Sara and Rory having a bust up before realising that they are the only two original members of the team (bar Ray of course) is a surprisingly touching moment and following on from last week it is nice to see some character development for Mick.
The scenes between Constantine and his ancestor are fun, though the wig takes a lot to be desired. His ultimate sacrifice is chilling, emotional but with what we may see going forward, it’s going to be brilliant.
Brandon Routh is another who stood out in this episode as the villain of the piece. Such a change of character from him after being the nice guy for so long, I really enjoyed seeing him on the other side.
I must be honest, after seeing Gary persuaded to the dark side, I was kind of hoping for a more sinister Gary than we saw here. Don’t get me wrong, it was great to see a more confident Gary but his character was still played for laughs. I am aware however, that as Ray has made a turn it may not have been the best idea to do the same with Gary. For one episode though I’d loved to have seen it.
Tabitha will be on the lookout for a new vessel but who will it be? Will we see Darhk Atom so you think?
All in all a great episode that gave us sacrifice, emotion, fun and the disgusting. Only Legends can do this. 9.5/10.

The Púca was cute as a button (fun fact – the Púca is a creature from Celtic folklore and is considered to be a bringer of good and bad fortune.
