Hello all, thank you for taking the time to read this and, if like me, you would like to see Teri enter the DC World Hall Of Fame, then please vote HERE PLEASE!!!

Teri Lynne Hatcher, born in December 1964 (I know, I can’t believe it either) in California, an only child.  Her mother and father were a computer programmer and an engineer, respectively.

As a youngster, Teri took ballet lessons at school, before studying maths and engineering at college.  Come the mid 1980’s and Teri took a job as a cheerleader for the San Francisco 49ers American Football team before getting a tv job as a dancer called Amy in the cult tv series, The Love Boat (I know that all of you of a certain age now have that theme tune in your head – I know I do).  Teri also went on to appear in various other tv shows, such as MacGyver, Star Trek: TNG, Quantum Leap and the short-lived Sunday Dinner, opposite Robert Loggia in 1991.

In between these roles, she had a big in the excellent action flick, Tango And Cash, playing the sister of Sylvester Stallone’s Ray Tango, Katherine.  This also starred the brilliant Kurt Russell.  Without knowing it then, this was my first introduction to the beautiful Teri.

However, come 1993, and Teri was cast as the feisty Lois Lane in Superman series, Lois And Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman.

Teri went on to play Lois for 4 seasons of the show, bringing a Lois Lane that was a near to the wonderful Margot Kidder as she could.  Beauty, feisty, no-nonsense Lois Lane that we saw in the Superman movies.  What was also a triumph in this role was the chemistry that Teri and Dean Cain had throughout.  They made you believe that they cared so much for each other, loved each other; that they were like this in real life.  That is all down to performance and, along with Dean, Teri made people care about the character of Superman again.  Absolutely wonderful.

During the show, Teri was as popular as the man playing the Superman character, at one point posing for a picture that was receiving download after download each month; Teri wrapped in Superman’s’ cape.  See the main picture, you can see why it may have been popular.

Teri also went on to play a superhero in her own right during the show; her character Lois being hit with a red Kryptonite beam, transferring Superman’s’ powers to her.  This was a great reversal during the show and it was played so well by Teri.  Shame we didn’t see more of Ultrawoman.  No reason why of course, but Teri has always been a massive crush of mine.

Another thing during her time on Lois & Clark, Teri also had the opportunity to write the episode, “It’s a small world after all”, which is about an old school friend of Lois kidnaps the partners of her classmates, shrinking them and placing them in a dollhouse.

Lois & Clark ran for 4 seasons and I still feel that it was finished too early, there was still so much more to tell.  Alas, as it wasn’t to be, I do try to watch it when I can as it is a series I will always have a lot of affection for.

Following on from Lois & Clark, Teri was cast as the doomed Bond Girl, Paris Carver in the 007 adventure Tomorrow Never Dies alongside Pierce Brosnan.  Not to be biased but she is one of my favourites of the Bond series.  Teri also had a lot of success in the series Desperate Housewives, winning a number of awards in the process.

However, DC tv was never far away and, as with others including Dean Cain, Teri has made a return to the SuperUniverse, making an appearance as Ella Lane, mother of Lois, in Smallville and a few years later as Queen Rhea of Daxam in a recurring role on Supergirl.

As you can see, the impact that Teri has had on the DC Universe is massive, Lois & Clark made her a star and she has returned to the SuperUniverse twice.  This not only shows her own impact but the impact it has had on her own career.  The SuperUniverse is a special place and it is a joy to see actors, after being made stars thanks to this universe originally, return to play different parts in different shows and movies.  Teri is no exception.

I do hope you feel the same and I hope you will vote her in, HERE PLEASE!!!, you will have my utmost gratitude.  She must join Dean there right?  And who can resist those eye?

EDIT: Thanks to the wonder that is San Diego Comic Con, I give you one final reason why Teri Hatcher MUST go in to the DC World Hall Of Fame.  So obvious is her love for the character of Lois Lane, she cosplayed her own character at the Con, being smiles to this around her and looking as great as ever.  I urge you, please vote for Teri Hatcher,  as big a Superman/Lois Lane/DC fan as any of us who read this.

Cheers, John
