Hello everybody!  I’m back with my nomination for DC World’s Hall of Fame April semi final: Mark Strong

Mark was born on August 5, 1963 Islington, London, England and was raised by a single mother.  He has been an active actor since 1989.  I’ve seen Mark on many shows and movies over the last 15 years but didn’t really start recognizing his work until I saw him in 2010’s Kick-Ass as the villainous Frank D’Amico.  He has proven that he can shine in any role, whether being a lead in the TV series Low Winter Sun or being a supporting character in movies such as Sherlock Holmes, Robin Hood, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and two of my personal favorites, Kingsman: The Secret Service and Kingsman: The Golden Circle just to name a few.

I am nominating Mark for his work on 2011’s Green Lantern as one of my favorite DC villains, Sinestro.  Not only did he look the part, he played the part very well.  I loved the character arc and the scene below where he puts on the Yellow Lantern Ring still gives me chills.  I was hoping DC and Warner Bros. would bring him back as Sinestro in the upcoming Green Lantern Corps movie. They instead cast him as Dr. Sivana in Shazam!, which I am looking forward to even more now.
