One of the most acclaimed artists to graze the comic book empire. Creating the superhero Booster Gold and his run with Superman titles including The Death of Superman storyline.

Fortunate to have found a copy of the comic at a recent comic con.

Contents page in the comic.

Dan Jurgens began his career in November of 1982 with the DC Comic The Warlord after the creator of the comic saw his work at a convention. Two years later, he became the artist for Sun Devils (a limited release series) and then quickly became a writer for the comic. In 1985, he created the character Booster Gold, which became a Justice League member soon after.

It wasn’t until 1987 his work on Superman first began when he was a penciller for The Adventures of Superman. Then in 1989, he became a full-time writer/artist for the Superman comic. And since then he has helped develop new storytitles such as Superman: Man of Steel (1991) and created two new villains: Doomsday and Cyborg Superman. Bringing Doomsday into The Death of Superman and Cyborg Superman in Reign of Superman.

His career has continued over the years in working with Marvel, Dark Horse, and Tangent Comics. His current project is writing for Action Comics starring Superman.

One of the pieces of art I was able to find during Henry Cavill’s scavenger hunt at the ACE Comic Con this last December.
