Are you ready for the Gotham drought to be over Gothamites? With the second half of season 4 returning in a few days the excitement and anticipation has been growing since a teaser trailer was released at the beginning of February. So with the return of the good, the bad and the criminally insane i think we are in for a real treat.
The most talked about is the return of Jerome Valeska. As Oswald Cobblepot takes up his new residence in Arkham Asylum his neighbour with a very distinctive laugh made an immediate offer of becoming his friend. We haven’t seen Jerome since episode 14 of season 3 and it is quickly apparent the extent of his facial surgery which now gives Jerome the wide mouth constant smile appearance on his face. Cameron Monaghan who plays Jerome has confirmed he isn’t The Joker. Which in the world of Gotham with the writers using the Batman cannon hasn’t surprised me. So Jerome Valeska is Jerome Valeska and now his character has a place in the Dc universe along with the brilliant new characters that Gotham has created. Having read the episode synopsis for 12,13 and 14 and it looks like Ivy Pepper will be a big part of the second half of season 4. With Maggie Geha exiting (still sad about this) so the evolution change of Ivy Pepper character becoming stronger and powerful to make Gotham that little bit more green and botanical will be interesting to see. Peyton List has been cast to carry on this role. Peyton is no stranger to the Dc universe playing Lisa Snart / Golden Glider in The Flash.
David Mazouz appeared on Build Series and did an interview which takes place in New York. I will add the link so you can watch the full interview which i highly recommend. It was great to to hear David discuss the different sides of Bruce Wayne especially as he is getting older and has decided that his role in life is to be a vigilante. David did reveal that Bruce will be spending more time with Captain Jim Gordon but it will make their relationship more complicated. Why will Bruce being spending more time with Gordon? Well the villains of Gotham will be forming their own Justice League of villains which will be headed by Jerome Valeska in which Bruce will be taking them on.

There are so many great questions to be answered for the rest of season 4 and i can’t wait to discuss with other Gotham fans. Has Grundy remembered? Will Sofia manage to gain control of Gotham underworld? When will Bruce rehire Alfred? When will Jim and Harvey partner up again? Is Barbara Ra’s al Ghul? And of course what will the dynamics be like when Oswald and Jerome team up?
