Minor spoilers ahead…

Legends of Tomorrow is my favourite show from the CW at the moment.  I know I say this each time I review an episode but it is fact!  Legends is so much different to those other shows that are also well established.  It’s a crazy, charming, and at times emotional show.  Mr Parker’s Cul-De-Sac is another fine example of this.

Cold Turkey…

Last week saw an almost tragic end to John Constantine; he has now decided to stop smoking.  I know right?  But still, this is accurate to the comics.  Ray has now decided to propose to Nora, an obvious thing that was coming.  However, along with that Astra has decided to bring back her next ‘Encore’.  Who could it be?  Well. Let’s just say that this guy is considered to have been one of the finest villains to have been seen in the so-called Arrowverse.  Yes, Damien Darhk is back.

What the writers have done brilliantly here, is to not forget that Damien from Season 3 was more concerned about his daughter than conquering everything and everyone.  What they have done with Damien in this episode, as it goes on anyway, could well give you a different feel about the character.  Thanks to a stunt from the Legends on Mr Parker’s Cul-De-Sac, and realising the error of his past ways, we see him as a charming, regretful and compassionate person.

A Marriage Story…

What is also telling in this episode, is how the Legends treat Nora as part of their family and the do what they can to help one of their own.  Nora is another shining example of how the Legends writers handle character development.  From her time being the vessel for Mallus, to becoming the strong and self-assured character we see today has been a joy to watch.  What has also been a joy to see is the relationship between Nora and her beau Ray.  It is perfectly obvious to all the love they share for each other as characters, but I also think it shows very well the love they share as a real-life couple.  That certainly helps their scenes together and of course their marriage in this episode.

The Rest…

Furthermore, we find out about Sara’s absence from the team for the past couple of week, Ava is lapping up her life as a Legend and Constantine convinces Charlie to help him find the Loom of Fate (following on from Charlie’s revelation last week of course).  Looking forward to seeing JC and Charlie as a duo, should be lots of fun.  There’s also a nice reveal about Mick as the events of ‘Crisis…’ still do their thing.  It is something that could bring some more, arguably needed, character development for him.

Quick Thoughts…

Another wonderful episode of Legends of Tomorrow, ‘Mar Parker’s Cul-De-Sac’ ticks all the right boxes of what we like to see from this show.  The only downside to this episode is knowing that next week sees Ray and Nora leave the show.  Gutted about this as I love the characters.

Oh yes, I have to say this.  Courtney Ford in that dress!  Ding and indeed Dong!
