So here we are at our first screening event of 2019 and this one was a Super event to attend. Thanks to the great people at Warner Bros UK, DC World was invited to a special double screening event in london to watch The Death of Superman and The Reign of the Supermen together on the big screen.

There are some special double screening events happing on Monday the 14th January at selected cinemas and we highly recommend you go check out these on the big screen.

The Death of superman is available now to own and The Reign of the Supermen is available on digital download from January 15th and DVD and BluRay from January 28th.

This is our Non Spoiler review as we want fans to go see and enjoy for themselves and believe everyone can make up their own thoughts.

Myself and Alex Knight from DC World went along to Warner Bros London and met up with fellow friends and bloggers, cosplayers and people from the industry and we all chatted, took pictures and had some great fun.

Now for being a Superman fan myself and also being a movie fan, this was the first animated DC Comics movie I had seen in a cinema on a big screen and oh boy was it great and did not disappoint. The animation was great and clever, the stories were great and the sound, oh my god, it felt like we was watching some big live action movie in there and will definitely be going to see a lot more animated titles as they release, it has changed the way I look at animated movies completley.

The story was strong and continued through both movies and there was a lot of action too, it really got you staring at the screen and not looking away just in case you missed something epic and I did not move for each of the movies, for an animation this was powerful for me.

Now this is no surprise the first part is titled The death of Superman so now when I say he dies in the first movie don’t let it surprise you. This scene did get me a little and the interaction with Lois lane and Superman when it all happens is great and really sad too. It reminded me of when I first watched Batman V Superman and Superman was killed by Doomsday, I ended up in bits in the cinema, I was choked, couldn’t talk to anyone and may of had a tear or two, the scenes completely overwhelmed me, so be prepared, don’t say we didn’t warn you!

One thing I also really loved was the humour throughout both movies, for an adult you will get a lot more of the humour than a young person and when you watch it you will see why. The interactions with Lois Lane and Wonder Woman for one was always great fun and made the whole room laugh, also some of the Justice League are super funny and always on wachother.

One character really stood out in the second movie The Reign of the Supermen, it was Superboy voiced by Gotham’s TV Series Actor Cameron Monaghan. He was a lot of fun and had very teenage humour and really stood out, when you see it you will know what I mean. I did enjoy the Supermen as we got to see all the different versions come to life and what other agendas were going on for some of them.

Finally the music score throughout was brilliant and the sound effects really stood out and I’m sure we got glimpses of a certain superman tune at stages too, but the animation which was cool was also quite graphic at points, Some of us were talking afterwards and was actually shocked on some of the graphic scenes in the movie. This was nothing bad simply some bloody scenes at certain points and it was nice in a way to make the movie feel a little more adult and dark and not like feel like some children’s Saturday morning cartoon.

I will score all our reviews out of 10 and I will gladly give these movies an 8 out of 10 and well deserved I feel.

We hope you have liked our small Non Spoiler review and feel free to Tweet, Instagram or facebook DC World with your thoughts and experiences after you have seen these. @_DCWorld
