Another year, another collectormania and this years way more impressive than previous years.  There were stalls and guests galore, including Lethal Weapon’s Danny Glover, Liverpool Football stars Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler, The Young Ones actor Adrian Edmundson, but the big star for us DC Fans was Flash himself, John Wesley-Shipp.

The cosplayers at the event were very impressive, with some great DC costumes amongst the rabble.  One example of DC Cosplayers are Black Canary and Supergirl below, courtesy of Express & Star.

While at the event I met John Wesley-Shipp, the original Flash, Barry’s Dad in the CW’s incarnation, and also Flash from another earth.  He’s been in Flash as multiple characters, and it was great to get his insight on things.

John said that being on Flash is great, that he enjoys working with Grant Gustin and that his new suit is way more comfortable than his original Flash suit.

Because I knew I was going to meet John, I designed a cover for ‘Newsweek’ that will eventually get framed and put on my wall when we move house.  John loved it, we also gave him a copy of it and there is only the two of us who have copies of it which I always like.  It’s nice to be able to use my skills to show my appreciation to the stars that I love to watch on TV.  It’s also good to know that you have something signed that nobody else has, that unique feeling is good.

It seems like John was pretty happy with it too, as I received this tweet from the legend himself earlier today.

Also while there, I saw a friend who was cosplaying.  He’s not a DC cosplayer, though he does have a Superman costume, he was there this time as a Ghostbuster.  I thought i’d also share this with you even though it’s not strictly DC related.

Overall it was a great event and Rachel and I really enjoyed it.  I think they are still a little behind the likes of MCM, but they are definitley getting better each year and we are already looking forward to next years event.
