It’s only fitting that my very first nominee for the DC World Hall Of Fame is the one and only Christopher Reeve.  Christopher garnered fame by playing my favorite superhero in 1978’s Superman: The Movie.  A movie that remains my favorite superhero movie followed closely by it’s sequel, Superman II.  I remember watching Superman as a young boy, after which I would try to imitate by wearing a makeshift cape and jumping from the kitchen counter top to try and fly, much to my parents’ dissatisfaction. My favorite scene in this movie is when Superman makes himself known to the world by saving Lois Lane as she is falling from The Daily Planet.  Her reply of “You’ve got me?  Who’s got you?!” to him after he catches her still makes me laugh to this day. Unfortunately in 1995, Christopher was thrown from his horse during an equestrian competition landing on his head and breaking his neck, paralyzing him from the neck down.  After this, the Christopher Reeve Paralysis foundation, later named the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation, was opened in 1999 to help many others who suffer from paralysis.  The foundation continues to thrive to this day. To everyone reading and voting, let’s put Christopher in his rightful place in the DC World Hall of Fame. Thanks Christopher, thank you for making me believe that a man can fly.
