We are very excited to announce the DC World Hall of Fame. This will give us the ability to show our love for the characters, actors, actresses, writers and illustrators that we love most from DC.
For the past few years, DC World has been growing at a steady pace. This is due to the dedication and passion of the man that started it all, Paul Edwards. In 2016, I started doing some bits for DCWorld through management and design of the website.
Then in June this year, Paul and I decided that it would be a good idea to get some writers on board. We recruited a great bunch who have the same passion for DC that we have.
We now have a steady team of around 10 people spanning from U.S.A through the UK and to the other side of the world in Australia. We intend to keep on growing.
This is why we are now bringing to you the Hall of Fame, part of the next phase of life for DCWorld.
Here is how it will work.
- – Each member of the DCWorld team will nominate one DC entity (a character, actor, actress, writer, illustrator etc.) to be put up for the Month’s semi-final. The first will begin on the 1st August 2017.
- – Once somebody has been nominated for a month’s semi-final, they cannot be put up again until the next year. So, if I nominated George Clooney for this month (why on earth would I do that?) then nobody in our team would be able to nominate him again until next year, even if he lost his months semi-final.
- – We will post a poll on the website, where everybody in the DC World community, will vote for their favourite until the end of the month.
- – At the end of that month the votes will be counted, and the winner of the month’s semi final we be entered into the final. This will take place from 1st December – 31st December, winner being announced 1st January 2018.
- This will happen each month until December, where all of the winners will be put up against each other. You, the people, will decide who wins and enters the DC World Hall of Fame!
Each month we will be posting about the entrants, monthly winners and more. You will get a real insight into some DC entities that you may not know about. The reasoning behind this is for us all to show appreciation to the best of the DC Universe. It will allow us to learn about elements of the DC Universe that we might not know about (hey, nobody can know everything). Also, it is a chance for you guys to all play a big part in the future of DC World.
There are Hall of Fame’s for many things across the world of media. These include for actors, wresters in World Wrestling Entertainment, Football, Dance and more. We want to be able to do our bit to build a collation of the best that DC Comics has to offer.
Whether it’s the fun of the late Adam West or the heroics of Black Canary, we will be proud to start building up a Hall of Fame. It will allow us to appreciate those things about DC that our followers love best.
We have many other things plans for later in the year. When the TV shows are back on our screens, when the Justice League movie hits and onwards into the next year too – so watch out. Although we wish to honour our heroes of DC Comics, we must point out that this is the Official DCWorld Hall of Fame, but it is in no way connected to DC Comics. We are a fan community and our Hall of Fame will be entirely chosen by you, the DC Comics fans!
